A man unexpectedly beams into Ops. It is Bareil, the mirror universe's version of the late Vedek Bareil. The mirror Bareil, a thief who used a multidimensional transporter to escape his universe, takes Kira hostage but she soon subdues him. As she gets to know him, she finds herself attracted to him. But Bareil - and Kira's alternate self, the Intendent - have another agenda.
