News updates

A lot of small updates today, see here it goes:

  • Enterprise season 4 has gone into production at Paramount. They will open with a two-part episode titled "Storm Front". According to executive producer Brannon Braga this episode will solve the Temporal Cold War once and for all, as well as wrap up the Xindi arc from season 3. After that, the fourth season will consist of small story-arcs and seperate episodes. Among the arcs will be a three-episode story involving a predecessor of Dr. Soong, the man who created TNG's Data. He will ofcourse be played by Data-actor Brent Spiner. Another story-arc will deal with a Vulcan civil-war, and it is rumoured that no other than Captain Kirk actor William Shatner will make an appearance this season.

  • At this moment plans are being made for the next Star Trek movie. According to Star Trek producer Rick Berman the movie will be a prequel, set before Enterprise, that will be about Starfleet Academy. But producer Brannon Braga earlier suggested that it would take place just after Enterprise, and deal with the Romulan War. Either way, the movie is supposed to have an all-new crew, so characters from the known series. But there are rumours that Jonathan Frakes (TNG's Riker), who directed First Contact, might also helm this eleventh movie in the Star Trek franchise. We'll keep you informed.

  • Last Wednesday, composer Jerry Goldsmith passed away, who composed a lot of music for the Star Trek series and movies. His work includes the main title music of The Next Generation and Voyager, and the music of last movie Star Trek: Nemesis. You have all probably seen his name one time or another in the credits. He died at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer. He will be missed.

  • This monday Veronica will broadcast the final episode of The Next Generation. The week after, they will start airing the old science fiction series 'V', in which an alien race from another planet visits 20th century Earth. And the visitor's intentions may not be as friendly as you think.
